North Long Beach Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a place of refuge, hope, and fun where the love of Christ lives in all we do and say and spills out into the community. Here you are loved. We are a changing church.  Having begun with a faithful group from the past and occupied a place in this community since 1929, we have grown in numbers and diversity.

ACCESSIBILITY:  If you or a loved one is in a wheelchair, park on the street, next to the church. Beside the building with the Kid- R-Us sign is a foyer and a ramp.  This leads up to the level of the church. Travel through the corridor to the courtyard and into the sanctuary.

CHILDREN: We love and value children!  They participate in all aspects of our worship.  We clap, we move, and we have a special time for them.  See more about worshiping with children on the Children and Parents tab. We also have a new Sunday School for the young ones with crafts to keep them busy so you can turn your whole attention to the service without having to worry about the kids

COMMUNITY: We are now moving in the community in new and exciting ways.  This past year we've hosted and led events as diverse as holiday dinners for the community and an Interfaith dialogue in response to the violent tearing off of a woman's hijab.  We are one of the Lights of the City celebrated by Councilman Al Austin.  You will see us at the Unity Festival and the Veteran's Day parade.  We are small but we are a mighty congregation giving of our time and treasure to bring more of God's love into Long Beach.

LEADERSHIP: Reverend Heather Miner, MDiv. Yale Divinity School, preaches a lively and thought provoking message.  Every week we celebrate Communion, allowing God, in the mystery of the Sacrament, to bring us closer to Jesus, one another, and God's love of the world.

PARKING: Across the street is a parking lot between an apartment building and Templo Shalom.  You may park in the spaces included in the three rows nearest the apartment building or on the street around the church. There is usually plenty of parking.

WORSHIP: Worship is full of song and joy!  ELNORA & MONICAleads us in life-affirming and body-stirring song.  People are encouraged to respond during the scripture and the message.  We have a time for the "child in all of us" to playfully enter into God's call on our lives.
